[dropcap]E[/dropcap]very spring, the Ohio University Alumni Association and several other units within the Bobcat community work together to launch Senior Week, a week-long celebration bursting with exciting events for all of OHIO’s soon-to-be Athens and regional campus graduates. Senior Week 2015 is scheduled for April 20-25.
“The mission of Senior Week is to celebrate seniors before they graduate. The many offices and organizations that come together for this week are putting on events ranging from helping students prepare for their next job, educating seniors about how they can get involved with the Alumni Association after graduation, or just helping them celebrate their last couple weeks on campus,” said Katrina Heilmeier, Associate Director of Campus Relations for OUAA.
This year’s Senior Week will kick off with Senior Shout Out, an event sponsored by Event Services, on Monday, April 20 at the top of Baker University Center from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. During the Senior Shout Out, graduating Bobcats are invited to record a 30-60 second message thanking friends and family for their support. The videos will be screened before the commencement ceremony on May 2.
Also on Monday, beginning at 6 p.m., complementary dinners will be open to students, alumni and faculty at various restaurants throughout Athens, consistent with OHIO’s other Dinner with 12 Strangers events.
On Tuesday, April 21, Bobcats will have another opportunity to take part in the Senior Shout Out project, and attend a “Manners Matter” Etiquette Dinner in the Nelson Dining Hall at 6 p.m. After dinner, SAB will host a Bobcat-2-Bobcat Panel at 7:30 p.m., where seniors will have the chance to network with alumni and staff while discussing life after college.
